dan-I-locks and selector sillen's b-day dance at the bassment in malmö went well.
with some adjustments on the sound it was nice to listen to deng deng hifi down south.
nice tunes and vibes all night...on the mic we got the chance to see dan-I-locks,josef & jakob levi.

danish dance

this weekend rootsteppas from malmö is taking their sound
over to copenhagen for a session with UNITY HIFI.
all those who live in malmö and like these kinda thing should try and reach
this session since denmark need all the support they can get in this roots and culture dances.
hope the session will go down well and somebody will record.

fast forward sound

fast forward sound has finished their sound and had a release for their rythm "love my riddim".
they are not strictly a roots and culture sound as the other sounds i have been following but they
have built their own boxes and i feel its important to big these guys up!
they played a wide range of reggaemusic and the crowd seemed very satisfied with what they experienced(ive not seen most of them at the other dances)...im gladly looking forward for the next session.

deng deng hifi meets tesfa sound-malmö 2009

in southern sweden lies malmö, swedens 3rd biggest city(with a population of 286 535 people living there).

malmö's DENG DENG HIFI had invited sthlms TESFA SOUND to a roots and culture dub meeting.
a bit of wind and rain was happening this evening but we felt happy to be in THE falafel town in sweden...where you get your falafel in rolls filled with greek sallad and hot sauce...

the BASSment lies in an industrial estate but is easy and near to reach from almost everywhere in malmö. and also an easy reach from copenhagen,denmark.

both sounds had some difficulties with their sound but they sounded great to me.
i'm really impressed by the sound tesfa got at the moment.and what a selection..

from 22-don't remember the time..5-6?....we heard some very good roots and culture music,both live and digital style,both older tunes and recent releases.
saw some nice people there,cultivator sound,alex tribulation,lion youth and also heard iyah one was there ut didn't see him.
no soundtape was made of this session and that's a pity but i managed to take some short movies with my camera.

session with TESFA SOUND & JAH MASSIVE this last saturday was great!
the sounds was just tuning their sound when people started comming.

tesfa playing lots of recent releases,mixing them up with some older gold as well..

massive playing some serious hard roots music...

the last hours was strictly dubplate style,massive playing many many dubs from their own studio..(one brand new l.thompson dubplate)

tesfa always got some heavy dubplates with them , we heard music by mighty massa,kuntus,slimmah.....and also tunes from their own studio.

session went on til four...no recordings was made to my knowlegde..so i guess this will be one for the storybooks...right?

TESFA SOUND SYSTEM & REUBEN ADDIS

tesfa had invited REUBEN ADDIS out of bedford uk to come and play on their sound.
the day had been moving quite nice with just a few raindrops hitting the streets in a light and clear kinda way...
the venue this time was located a bit off the traditional roads for a "night on the town"...
but the people arrived nice and easy and there was something between 150-250? persons reaching this allnighter with secial guest Reuben Addis ( http://www.myspace.com/addisyouth )...

karl and jakob selected a wide range of roots and culture music..playing tuff rootstunes from 70's up til nowaday releases and mixed them up with a few of their own productions..one favourite tune of the night from tesfa was trodding...(not one of their own productions but they played it the last session aswell and i really like it)...respect goes out to those involved in that..
otherwise i enjoyed tesfa's own productions the most.

reuben came on at about 3 and started out strong with some binghi tunes and then went into some serious steppers and great mic chanting...loved that last tune!

as we went home at about 7 or so the sun had been up for hours already...

session was recorded and tapes will come up.
